Battle Scars by Guy Sebastian
"Battle Scars" is a song performed by Australian singer-song writer Guy Sebastian and American rapper Lupe Fiasco. The song lyrics and music were written by Sebastian and David Ryan Harris, with the rap written by Fiasco. It is the third single lifted from Sebastian's upcoming seventh album Armageddon. It was released digitally in Australia on 10 August 2012, and debuted at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart in its first week of release and has been certified gold. It is Sebastian's tenth top ten and sixth number one single in Australia, and Fiasco's third top ten and first number one single. The song has also reached number 14 on the New Zealand RIANZ Singles Chart. A CD single which includes a new song called "Get Along" and a remix of "Battle Scars" will be released on 14 September 2012. On 21 August it was announced "Battle Scars" will be included on Fiasco's fourth album, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, and it was released worldwide as the fourth single on 28 August. Guy Theodore Sebastian (born 26 October 1981) is an Australian pop, R&B, and soul singer-songwriter who was the first winner of Australian Idol in 2003. Since 2010 he has been a judge on Australia's The X Factor. Sebastian has released six top ten platinum/multi-platinum albums, including a number one and two. He has also released 13 top 15 singles, including ten top tens. Six of his singles reached number one, the most number one singles an Australian male artist has achieved in Australian music history, and he is third overall for all Australian acts. He has four multi-platinum singles, with "Angels Brought Me Here", "Who's That Girl" and "Don't Worry Be Happy" reaching 4× platinum. "Angels Brought Me Here" was the highest selling song in Australia last decade. With 30 platinum and four gold certifications and combined album and single sales of over 2.2 million in Australia, Sebastian has the highest certifications and sales of any Australian Idol contestant.
